The Destination Freedom radio show began as a dramatic series dedicated to the plight of afro-americans and their struggle for freedom. Therefore, for the first 103 episodes the cast was mostly black. It centered on the stories of prominent black men and women in history and on the groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the White Knights of Columbus that fought against equality for the black race. For the final 58 episodes, the plotline changed to stories about great American heroes and the stories became mostly about historical figures who were mostly white.
